Was a few weeks before a even had to visit the petrol station as had half a tank in it when I bought it. Getting 20km/l or more through transmission fully to work, 1.8l more than enough for inclines no worry about battery cooking on inclines as petrol power does the heavy lifting. 25km/l around town as EV mode. Love the adaptive cruise control for commute into welly, esp on days protesters glue themselves to roads, does all the stop starting for me. Lane alerts handy too. Safe easy cheap car to travel in. Glad I bought it

This Prius Prime performs well. I opted for the S model and it has been very good on fuel. I had a pioneer carplay headset installed.

The important factor to me was the ancap safety rating and it waa a plug in hybrid I was after. It had to be a relatively common vehicle ( parts availability etc ) I called it a cellphone with wheels. Unless you are familiar with more modern vehicles be prepared for a steepish learning/getting used to curve.

It's the best choice for anyone cares about environment and also fuel cost. I'm very happy with my new car. Plug in hybrid cars have advantages of both electric and hybrid car and Toyota Prius prime is the best of them. The full charge battery let you drive 62km (flat ) and the hybrid mode fuel usage is extremely low. Love it .

The 2017 Prius is much better than the generation 3 (pre 2016). Quieter, more fuel efficient. I'm averaging about 25km/l without even thinking about mileage.

I don't know why more people aren't buying this style of vehicle. We are a retired couple whose driving history is 90%+ around Nelson maximum 30 kms per day. Having a plug-in hybrid will give us petrol free motoring for most of the time.
